Are guys really different from girls when it comes to dating? Do they really have a different train of thought? Are their thought process backwards? Do they not understand what is going on? And where things can lead to?

The other day a friend was telling me about a mutual acquaintance who was dating someone for a while. All of a sudden, after three months of dating, he is starting to question her way of dressing and her habits. They differ from what he wants. Minor issue nothing really that major, albeit a tznius issue. After conferring with a Rav who gave her the "heter" he still has doubts as to whether this is really what he wants and whether it will cause problems in the community he wants to live in.

Now, tell me this, why did he not think of this during the three months prior to this time of closer to engagement? Why did it not bother him during the first few non closeness dates? Is it really an issue or is just an out of a scary situation. Marriage! Is he just afraid to take the plunge and go for it, or is it really a legitimate reason? I have no answer.

Now mine you I have not had much to do with this guy for a few years, so his personality has changed completely. I remember him as young 18 year old and now four years later he has matured, graduated college and accomplished plenty in those years. He has basically grown up and changed. Or has he? Now that he is four years older, what makes him more grown up? Just because his age makes him older does he really act older? Based on what I am hearing, he has not changed despite the friends insistent that he is a different person.

So are the guys more wishy washy then the girls? Do the guys want to have fun and then when it is serious start thinking about it? Where as the girl want to get serious right away and then have fun...

Go figure...and we have to live with one another....

I don't think you can judge either way...Sometimes it's the girls and sometimes it's the guys who can't decide.... And you're right...older doesn't necessarily mean more mature.
Nice to see you hocking again!
